Heather Marks Italian Vogue interview video

The video interview can be seen here on Vogue.it:

The face of an angel that doesn't hide her determination to be always true to herself.
Famous for big blue eyes and a cheeky, elf-like look. She's known in the fashion world for being one of the doll-like models.

Personal style
"Pretty much you just have to be yourself! Every girl has their own style, and that's what clients like. They like to see variety. I wouldn't really say that I adjust my style to match those of designers etc, I dress to be comfortable."

Zoom
Born in Calgary to British parents, at 11 she won a local beauty pageant. She immediately started working in advertising for brands like Calvin Klein and Karl Lagerfeld.

"Starting at the age of 14, you're thrown into such a crazy industry. You're working with girls double the age of you, I found I was always the youngest girl out there. I find you have to mature in this business, it's almost like you're forced to; personality and maturity is about 80 percent of the business."

One of her first modelling jobs took her, at 15, to Zanzibar for a photo shoot. "The whole experience was absolutely amazing, taking a two-seater plane over the ocean, seeing monkeys in the forest, and the children there are absolutely amazing!"

She's a volunteer for NewYorkcares, she looks after the animals that the association rescues. But when she's at home she takes care of her English bulldog, Otis. She has a tongue piercing and a tattoo on her left ankle.

Like all Canadians, she loves sport: soccer, snowboarding and wakeboarding.

Never leaves home without
Her BlackBerry and her chapstick.

In public
Totally casual.

In private
"I wear tracksuit trousers when I'm at home."

Shoes and bags
"My favourite bag is the Brenda by Alexander Wang. As for shoes, I usually wear ballerina pumps. But my favourites among high-heels are Christian Louboutin booties."

Jewellery
"I currently prefer to mix delicate jewellery with rather more chunky pieces."

Hair
"I cut my own hair, I'm used to it. My best look is when I've just washed it, very natural."

Fashion tip
"Be yourself, don't be afraid of saying who you are. Don't follow the latest trends just because it's easy."

Good habits
Kickboxing, running and cycling.

Bad habits
Biscuits.

She loves
"My dog Otis".

She hates
Mice.

Obsessed with
Mac's Nars Laguna Bronzer.

Favourite designers
Isabel Marant, Alexander Wang and Rodarte.

Favourite music
"I'm Canadian, I can't be anything but a country girl."

Favourite food
Sushi.

Favourite drink
Coconut water. "Sometimes I'll have a white wine, more like when I'm away in Mexico. I enjoy a light Pinot Grigio."

Favourite movie
Now and Then by Marlene King.

Favourite book
"The books my mother used to read to me when I was little."

Motto
"Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve." [Napoleon Hill]

First thing in morning
"I put something on."

Last thing before bed
"I brush my teeth."

Matt Holloway: Live from Coachella on Models.com

Women's own Matt Holloway shared his personal snaps from the Coachella Music Festival with Models.com:

Music is the first order of business at the Coachella but fashion has invaded the indie music festival: there are enough models, designers and fashionistas at this years fest to make a mini-fashion week. Women Management agent Matt Holloway took the time out to share some of his from the field images especially for MDC; you’ll spot a few familiar fashion favorites, a lot of that cool laid back style the festival is becoming known for and even a movie star or two.

Women loves Yu Tsai

Women loves Yu Tsai.

His talent is undeniable. Yu Tsai doesn't limit his vison to one medium - he works in both still photography & film. What makes him so lovable amongst talented photographers is his loyalty.

The range of his photography is expansive - he can capture the expensive and glossy side of a model, as well as the intimate and natural side of their beauty. And when he establishes a rapport with a model, he deepens that relationship by working with her continuosly.

This depth allows him to penetrate beneath a models shell, and capture the woman within.

Currently, Yu Tsai is working on a series with Women, capturing the classic beauty of WOMEN.

Yu Tsai's work can be seen on his web site: here.

J'adore JD

JD Ferguson is a real New Yorker. We share the same passion for beauty. On April 29, 2008 we worked together with Carolina Pantoliano & Andressa Fontana - he shot, I styled. The fashion was Proenza Schouler for Target mixed with mens briefs, boxers & tube socks. Last Wed he stopped by the agency, & photographed Heather Marks and Suzanne Diaz in the shirts that were done with Lacoste for Visionaire 54: Sport. JD has the best energy - he lit up the entire agency & put everyone in a good mood. His blog, JD Vision, covers the waterfront - girls, boys, men, women, porn stars, fashion stars, stars - the entire spectrum of beauty & sexuality. And he always inserts his healthy sense of humor into everything he does. JD also covers fashion week backstage for V Magazine. Backstage at shows, I always look forward to seeing him - he makes you feel like you are the most fascinating person in the room, & he is focused on you alone.

Heather Marks

Heather Marks is a real beauty. Yesterday I took polaroids of her in the morning - the room we were in faces south, and the sun was still in the East. The light is better in the afternoon, when the sun is setting in the west and comes in at a golden angle. The flash was creating a strange halo - so I taped over it to trick it. The polaroid came out way too dark - But I still love it. The darkness emphasizes the chic-ness of Heather - the length of her neck, the symmetry of her head, the lankiness of her arms. The silhouette & matte texture of the polaroid reminded me of a Mats Gustafson illustration. Heather performs for the camera, is aware of her posture, and does her best to make the picture look great. Watch her at work, and learn how a picture can go from good to great:
